The seventh middle school for the Paradise Valley Unified School District is located just north of Cave Creek Road and Deer Valley Road.  The site is connected to Boulder Creek Elementary School.  The design incorporates a central courtyard as a main organizing space.

The three major reasons for the design of the courtyard are to:

• Provide a sense of place for student interaction.
• Provide a secure environment, protected by the buildings themselves.
• Allow student supervision with minimal staff.

The circulation solution separates bus traffic, parent traffic, and that of staff

Finally, this design allows for off-hours use by the community education department, while leaving the overall campus security in tact.
